Take me deeper or do not take me at all

Take me deeper or do not take me at all

Last night I symbolically threw my shame in the river, I threw in the subtle shame I realised I hold on some level about being single. As if maybe that makes me somehow inadequate or undesirable or just not good enough at manifesting! I released this unhelpful thought form, because it is not based on truth. If I really wanted a man, I could ‘get’ one, I could manipulate reality somehow and find a body to share my bed with, but the truth is that I do not just want any body. I want a man who can truly open me and open TO me. A man who can really see me, a man who is dedicated to growth and truth in the same way that I am. A man who takes me deeper than I can go myself. I am determined not to purchase the idea that men are ‘behind’ the women in terms of growing up and showing up (although I could easily rustle up a hell of a lot of evidence to prove this) and my intention in writing about this subject is not to point out that men are not capable of really meeting me. It is about me getting super clear about where I am investing my energy, where I am losing energy, where I am barking up the wrong tree, where I am forgetting to trust, where I am selling out for the hope of fulfilling a romantic vision, and losing touch with reality in the process. Forgive me for making pronouncements for all women, because many might disagree, but from my own experience I would say that the romantic illusion is FUCKING STRONG for us women. I am generally a very grounded woman (and pretty wise actually, ask my friends!) and yet in the field of relating I have observed an unbelievable tendency to create intricate webs of delusion centred around whoever it is I am attracted to. FUCK. It is SO frustrating, I experience first hand how I can go into a complete story as soon as I fancy a guy. So this article is about ME, and this tendency of women to give our power away, in the hope of receiving love and validation and fulfilling a romantic fantasy. Let me take you back 48 hours, to a scene by a river, here in magnificent beautiful tropical Bali. At a...

Hanging out on the edge-5 ways to harness the power of your emotions

Hanging out on the edge-5 ways to harness the power of your emotions

Does anyone else relate to feeling a bit ashamed for being an ’emotional person’? When shame, fear, anger and rage comes up, do you take the time, and create the space, to feel it? or do you just ‘get on with it’? Do you hang out on the edge- or do you avoid the messiness of your intense emotions? In working with coaching women to reclaim their power and juiciness, i am finding a common theme. We have come to see sensitivity as weakness, we have gotten out of touch with our wildness. We have been encouraged to ‘keep it together’ and ‘be ok’ rather than to go to our edge and explore the depths of our emotional landscape. But in our deep emotional life, our true power is found. Our deep feelings are our Wild Feminine essence seeking expression, showing us things that we need to see, clearing us off what we have been holding within. When we anesthetize or distract ourselves to avoid feeling our intense feelings then we miss out on the opportunity to learn, grow and change. Allowing ourselves to really feel difficult emotions takes us to our edge. Hanging out on the edge may be scary, but ultimately it frees us up and at the end of the day, feeling free and alive totally kicks arse over just being ok, and ‘coping’ -wouldn’t you agree? So many women, tired of the effort of keeping it all together and keeping it all inside, are finding that being REAL and exploring and expressing our truth is SO much fulfilling than being perfect. We are dropping the myth of how we should be, and learning more and more about what we are. And often it seems that we need to be pushed to our edge in order to discover who we are. At the edge of what feels comfortable to us, we find the power of the full feeling feminine; and it is well worth the often tumultuous ride in deep emotional waters… Here are the keys that allow you to swim rather than sink in your emotional landscape, and use the challenges on your path as a fire of transformation that offers you the gift of your deeply fulfilled self.   I am throwing these out as an offering to you, to me, to all of us, genuinely doing our best to become more whole, integrated,...

Sharing the Sacred Succulence

Sharing the Sacred Succulence

The way back home is only a sigh away…. the beauty and power of sacred succulence is the gift of aliveness we find within our own bodies when we take the time to pause, to feel, to activate and regenerate. It is possible to be full power and productive and restful, trusting and vital, all at the same time. The feminine path of surrender, sprinkled with sighs, laden with nourishment and infused with embodied presence, offers us a path of balance. and this nourishing medicine is exactly what myself and Rachel Ma share on our ‘Sacred Succulence’ retreats…. We have just finished an incredible week retreat, sighing, softening and surrendering  with some wonderful women here in Bali…and i bow down to the potency of a space created for nurture, exploration and celebration. I am amazed by the incredible transformation possible in the space of sisterhood. I bow down to the Tao Tantric Arts and transformational breathwork and all the other yummy tools we offer on our workshops and retreats. I bow down to the incredible beauty of Bali, the deliciousness of Soma’s live organic delicious food  and the inherent beauty and courageousness of women.      These shots of the retreat were taken by the amazing Zia Zeff; go to www.zia-zeff.com to see more of her incredible work! We are currently planning another retreat later on in the year…so stay tuned!  ...
