How to move past fear and embody your inner goddess

How to move past fear and embody your inner goddess

We spoke about how damn normal that is, how we all have our own versions of those stories. It was a beautiful sharing in which we could both reveal the ways that our fear works in us and closes us down. One of the women who has attended our ‘Sacred Succulence’ women’s workshops and retreats, and who is, in her words, exploring what succulence is to her, and how she can embody that more, was telling me on day 2 of a 3 day workshop about the voices in her head that tell her why everyone else is sexier and more empowered than she is and tell her that maybe she should just give up and go home and get back into her comfort zone… Then the next time we spoke was the last morning of the 3 day workshop and something big had obviously shifted, she was standing taller, she was swinging her hips and smiling brightly and had obviously stepped into her goddess self. She looked at me and saw that I was seeing her, really seeing her and recognising her dramatic shift into her goddess self, and she said ‘yes-why not?’ Indeed..why not? 2000 years of repression of the feminine is no longer a good enough excuse as to why we would make ourselves small. Those voices inside our heads that have nothing but negative criticism also need not be a reason for not saying YES to embodying our own power, beauty and sensuality. The fear that our own power and sensuality is scary, selfish, inaccessible or lacking, need also not be a stumbling block that prevents us from connecting to our feminine essence and power.  What I love the most about my work in holding spaces for women to activate and explore their feminine energy is that women can feel safe enough to go beyond those voices and begin to discover for themselves what succulence, sensuality and feminine power looks like and feels like for them.   In these workshops and retreats we provide the space for women to explore what living as a goddess looks like and feels like for them, we are all a different flavour of goddess energy and we need to know, respect and claim our unique qualities. Women might come in with the idea that they want to fit an image of what ‘sexy’ and ‘powerful’ and ‘succulent’ looks like and that they need...

The yoga of embodiment—3 essential tools for getting back into the body and your feminine power

Do you tend to have a busy mind that takes up most of your attention? Have you wondered how you could ‘ get out of your mind’ and embody your femininity more? In my workshops I speak a lot about ‘ coming back into the body’ and many women have asked me what I mean by that… This has been a surprisingly hard question to answer despite the fact that, to me, the difference between being IN my body and NOT in my body is HUGE. One quick answer that I have come up with is that the opposite of being IN your body is being IN your head. Most women I encounter can relate to this busy mind syndrome, despite the fact most of us feel happiest and most fulfilled when we feel good in our bodies, and open and present to the fullness of that experience. So how do we come back to the body and reclaim that juicy experience we yearn for? Perhaps the most important thing to understand is that this tendency to focus our attention on our mental activity, is usually an unconscious effort to escape the feelings in our bodies; And that this cuts us off from our embodied wisdom and, in turn, our feminine power and succulence. Being IN your body means that you are aware of the continually changing sensations, feelings and sensations; both the obvious and subtle. The physical, the emotional, the energetic. It is the moment to moment openness to feel ‘Shakti’ (feminine life force) moving freely though our bodies. This is the yoga of embodiment, and it will transform your life. So lets break it on down… What happens when we get back IN our bodies? *The minds eternal dialogue becomes relegated to the background, where it belongs. We use our mind when we need it and the rest of the time we are available to the magic of aliveness in our bodies. *We learn to sense what we need, what is right for us and what isn’t. *WE learn to TRUST ourselves. *We get clearer boundaries. *We learn about the ways that we escape shut down to feeling and shut down to life. *Life gets juicier. Working with women over the years, I have noticed a common yearning to have more energy and intimacy in their lives and to live from an empowered place. Living IN our...

Things to do in the yoni-verse

Oh my! What a multi dimensional and multi orgasmic terrain there is to be discovered in the sexual organs of woman! Unfortunately many women are not as intimate with this terrain as they could be… Many women leave the explorations of this area to other people, yet what a fulfilling and enlightening journey it is to journey through ones own yoni-verse…   For those who have not yet cottoned on….’yoni’ is an ancient name for vagina, but more than that, yoni often refers to all of the female sexual organs, but more importantly than that, yoni is a Sanskrit word that means sacred space.   Generally modern women are not raised to approach their sexual organs as sacred space.   Some women speak about their yonis as ‘down there’. Others mindlessly stimulate their yonis in order to gain a fleeting respite from otherwise unremarkable lives. Others allow men to enter their sacred space without reverence or respect.   All of this indicates a sad state of affairs for human kind, fortunately though…yoni as sacred space is BACK (or rather it is being reclaimed) and women are finding that there are wonderful ways to celebrate their sexuality and evoke the sacred all at the same time.   Exploring the yoni-verse   Like many women I did not take the time to really get to know myself sexually, I left that to the men that I was with. Fortunately my path has brought me to discover the many wonderful tools and techniques of Tao Tantra to help me to cultivate and celebrate my sexual energy and pilgrimage through my own ‘yoni-verse’.     Tantra and Taoism originate from India and China back in the day when these cultures had a deep understanding of the power and preciousness of sexual energy. Both of these systems merge sexuality and spirituality through alchemical meditative practices that utilize our energetic pathways and capacity for feeling.   Women are such sensual, full- feeling creatures, rather than trying to transcend this we can utilize this. Our journeys in the yoni verse can be a meditation and our sexual energy becomes cosmic fuel for divine union.   Tantric and Taoist sexual practices aim to transform raw sexual energy into refined spiritual energy. The Tao Tantric arts, a fusion of these systems, offer us feminine practices guide us to heal, activate and celebrate our sexual organs and use our...
